Join Mari and Friends for a week in beautiful Nosara, Costa Rica at the Nosara Yoga Institute (www.nosarayoga.com). We will be practicing in their gorgeous tree top pavilion.
Mari will be leading both Bikram and Astanga classes everyday, and there will be time for open (silent) practice, during which time Mari will also be practicing...
Nosara is located on the Pacific coast. The water is warm and perfect for surfing (you can rent a board there. The waves aren't monstrous though, so its also safe to swim.
The beach is long and smooth- great for sunset walks.
There is lots of nature in Nosara, hiking, horseback riding, jungle canopy and zip line,
or quiet contemplation...
We will stay in very cozy cabinas that are a 5 minute walk from the Yoga Institute and a 20 minute walk from the beach.
The cabinas are very comfortable, with two bedrooms, a dining area, a full bath, 24 hour hot water and large terraces. There is a grocery store nearby, so we can plan on lots of dinner parties! There are also plenty of good restaurants.
March is dry season, so expect good weather, and no mosquitos.
Nosara is clean, quiet and safe, very different than some of the touristy areas of Costa Rica that are attracting a lot of crime.
The cost of the retreat is:
$900 (shared accomodation in a double room)
$1,000 (Private room)
Couples (or friends) sharing a room with 1 double bed $1,700
This covers the accommodations and yoga. Food and flights are up to you.
Please go to www.nosarayoga.com for more information about the yoga center, and Nosara and many more photographs...

A Tranquil, Adventurous, and Centering Experience!
These are the best word that I can use to describe taking a retreat with Ms. Mari. Having retreated with her and others this past January to Peru, I can only say that her skills for creating a most relaxing yoga retreat and atmosphere – within which even the most different of people can enjoy a trip together - are first rate. Each morning began with an extraordinarily tranquil Bikram yoga session in front of a roaring fire. I don’t know about you; however, for me there is nothing like a fire chased by the smell of cooking food to begin the day. The Sacred Valley of the Inca and Mama Kia’s incredible indigenous flower garden made each day a commencement exercise in beauty. Then, the adventure began! From hiking Putukusi and praying to her sheer vertical ladders to keep me from falling to the impressive fortified cities of Ollantaytambo, lead by local Quechua guides, each hiking trip – for an Indian Jones wannabe like me (Yes. I am really an anthropologist) – provided a unique, eco-friendly, and indigenous near experience that left a greater footprint on my memory than we left on the planet. Each trek was a journey through space and time that illuminated the achievements of great Inca civilizations and the cultural resilience of contemporary descendents. I almost never want it to end; and when it did, Ms. Mari brought us back full circle to the centering peace that began the morning with a second yoga session: a meditation that reminded me of the beauty that could be carried through the day and the strength that could be cultivated by living in it.
If this brief review sounds cheesy to you, then move to the next. If it appeals to you, however, then my advice is to start saving now! For this was my first adventure with Ms. Mari ever, and with Costa Rica on her retreat agenda, all I can say is try and prepare for a truly tranquil, adventurous, and centering experience. – Namaste from Robert Keith Collins, PhD.
